Arbour Care and Covid 19

Our number one priority is the safety and well-being of our clients and our employees.

We understand what a worrying and frightening time it has been, and we are doing everything we can to protect our clients and the wider community by ensuring that all Arbour Care employees are fully vaccinated.

Since the start of the pandemic, we have been working tirelessly with our teams to protect and support our clients, whilst also putting measures in place to ensure our teams own safety, health and wellbeing.

We are delighted that we have had no cases of transmission from our staff to our clients, which is a huge testament to the dedication and commitment of our teams to keep both themselves and the homes they work in safe, by respecting and adopting all guidance issued by Arbour Care and the UK Government.

Live-in care is the safest type of care for older people during the Covid-19 pandemic as we can guarantee effective shielding through one-to-one care, staff changes are minimal and footfall in the home can be controlled.

We hope that as we all learn to adapt to living with Covid-19 in our communities, our clients will rest easy knowing that they are as safe as possible in their own homes.

How to reduce risk of Covid 19

There are some basic things everyone can do to reduce their risk of catching COVID-19:

  • Regularly and thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water. You should wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. (the time it takes to sing ‘Happy Birthday through twice).
  • If you are out, or do not have access to soap and water, use hand sanitiser to clean your hands.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, if you have not washed your hands.
  • Make sure you cough or sneeze into a tissue, and throw the tissue away immediately.
  • Stay at least 2 metres (6 feet) away from others when you are away from home.
  • Stay at home or away from other people if you feel unwell with a fever, persistent cough or have a change in your sense of taste or smell.
  • Consider avoiding large groups or gatherings of people, for example social events, community meetings and cultural activities.
  • Try to avoid shaking hands or hugging other people.
